New NeRAIN URL
All State of Nebraska government websites will soon be changing over to a consistent URL and THIS WILL AFFECT ALL NeRAIN VOLUNTEERS.
The old home page for NeRAIN was soon be disappearing You can still currently use the old site but the new site is operational now and you should change over to it as soon as possible. The new location is http://dnrdata.dnr.ne.gov/NeRAIN/index.asp. When you are just browsing the site and viewing the maps and reports, this will cause no problem. HOWEVER, it will cause a problem when you try to log in to enter your reports.
COOKIES WILL BE CRUNCHED
To help you log on each day, a system called "cookies" is used on this site. When you come to enter data, the website looks at your cookie, can tell who you are, and automatically logs you in. Each cookie is tied to a particular website and when the website URL changes, it will ignore the cookie you are now using to log in so it will not log you in.
How to get around the problem
First you will need to bookmark the new location, which again is http://dnrdata.dnr.ne.gov/NeRAIN/index.asp. Then when you visit the new site, click on "sign-in" from that page and enter your User Name and Password to log in again. Be sure to leave the "Save Log In" button checked. Once you click on the "Log In" button, you should be set up and will not have to go through the log in process each time.
Don't remember your User Name and Password?
If you do not recall your User Name and Password, just click on the "Forgot User Info?" link on the "sign-in" window and follow the prompt. That information will be emailed to you. Then go back to the "sign-in" window, enter it and you should be set up.
Sorry for the inconvenience but it is a requirement for all state government websites to conform to this standard. For a short time, the old address will still be usable but eventually, that will go away. You should convert as soon as possible. If you have any questions or problems with the conversion, don't hesitate to ask.
On Vacation
I know this will make things a bit inconvenient but I will be gone on vacation from March 9 to March 27. Please contact your NRD/Regional Coordinator during that period if you have questions. You can find your local contact here: http://dnrdata.dnr.ne.gov/NeRAIN/docs/regionalcoord.asp
Thanks again for volunteering for NeRAIN.
